Political Change

Due to upheaval within the Cabinet and ministerial resignations the Prime Minister has had to shuffle the political pack once again.

The impact of this is yet another change of housing minister with Dominic Raab (pictured left) being elevated to Brexit Secretary a mere 181 days into his role as Housing Minister.

The new appointee, Kit Malthouse (pictured right) is now the 8th Housing Minister since 2010.

The Housing sector is pretty disappointed by yet another change.

On the one hand the Prime Minister is telling the country that housing is a priority for her government, but constantly changing ministers means that they don’t have time to get to grips with their brief and effect real change.

We wait to see if this will delay the publication of the Social Housing Green Paper announced by Sajid Javeed (who has also moved ministerial posts since the announcement) last September.
