Askival secures S106 site in Mill Hill for new client

Askival has secured part of the S106 housing at the former National Institute of Medical Research in Mill Hill for its new client, Innisfree Housing Association.

Working in association with L&Q through the Build London Partnership scheme, contracts have been exchanged for 16 affordable homes. The development includes a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments for rent and shared ownership on the Barratt Homes scheme known as Ridgeway Views.

Innisfree was first registered as a housing association in 1985 to address the poor health and housing conditions of the local Irish community in Brent.  It now owns over 500 homes, mainly in North & West London, serving the housing needs of Irish and other migrant residents.

With an on-going programme to build more housing, Askival has been retained to complement in-house skills by providing development management services.  The remit covers development of a strategic framework, new business, scheme delivery and general development support.

Askival chief executive Mike Nestor said:  “We are delighted to be working with Innisfree.  Both the board and executive teams have a great can-do, will-do attitude.  Our role is to support that by promoting a robust development pipeline and managing everything required to meet their delivery targets.  We are assessing a number of potential schemes and it is good to have secured this project for them in Mill Hill.” Innisfree chief executive John Delahunty said: “This is a great start.  The 16 homes at Mill Hill are in a good location for our tenants and the scheme, in partnership with L&Q, is a very positive step forward.”
